Easter in Castelo de Vide is lived intensely, locally and by all those who come for the celebrations.

The activities are mainly religious in nature. The Calvary Church is open for worship during this time of year. There is a Book Fair and there is a proliferation of typical meatless dishes and sweets in many places. One of the highlights is the imposing Easter Sunday procession, with a protocol dating back more than 400 years. The procession is attended by all the masters of crafts, organizations and other living forces of Castelo de Vide. It is on this day that the lamb and kid dishes are eaten. The celebrations end on Monday, when tradition dictates that picnics are held.
