XXIII Pilgrimage on Horseback Moita – Viana do Alentejo

The XXIII Horse Pilgrimage from Moita to Viana do Alentejo has already been set for April 22-27, 2025.
This historic equestrian and religious event brings together hundreds of pilgrims from all over the country on a 150-kilometer dirt track, to which a total of almost a thousand pilgrims are expected to join along the way. This was a tradition that was revived at the beginning of the 21st century, recalling how in the past farmers and their animals used to go on pilgrimage to the sanctuary in Viana do Alentejo. During the pilgrimage, the image of Moita's patron saint, Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem, is taken to Viana do Alentejo, where it is joined by the image of Nossa Senhora d'Aires. There are several shows scheduled, including names such as Luís Cimenta, Os Descendentes and 300 and Friends.
