Events

The Rose Festival takes place every year in the parish of Vila Franca, in Viana do Castelo, marking the beginning of the region's pilgrimages. The 2025 edition takes place between May 9 and 12 and, as always, the highlight is the Flower Basket Parade, made with stems, leaves, buds and petals of natural flowers, which are carried on the heads of the mordomas as an offering to Our Lady of the Rosary.

In addition to the parade, there will also be a Folklore Festival, with performances by national and international folklore groups, as well as food and drink stalls, the sale of traditional sweets and other entertainment for all ages.
