The Requiem Mass by João Domingos Bomtempo is a monument of our History. Sober, solidly structured, it fits into the movement that just over 200 years ago defended the country's social reform. The Liberal Revolution that overthrew monarchical absolutism and opened doors to the constitutional regime was then foreseen.

The dedication to the memory of Luís Vaz de Camões reflects the intention of recovering this ideal of nationhood.
