Events

The São Miguel Arcanjo Festivities, which take place in Vila Franca do Campo, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, are being held this year between May 6 and 15. This, one of the most significant religious celebrations on the island of São Miguel, has medieval roots and pays homage to the patron saint of the town and the island, São Miguel Arcanjo.

One of the highlights of the festivities takes place on May 11, the well-known Procession of Labor, which brings together representatives of various professions who accompany their patron saints along the streets of the town, the procession being led by the image of Saint Michael the Archangel.
