The exhibition "Lourdes Castro: there is light in the shadow" is the result of a collaboration between MUDAS.Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Madeira and Arquipélago - Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, as part of a project supported by the Directorate-General for the Arts through the Portuguese Contemporary Art Network (RPAC). The first exhibition of the Madeiran artist in the Azores, it symbolizes a cultural bridge between archipelagos and a tribute to her poetic and luminous work. Recognized as one of the most unique voices in 20th century Portuguese art, Lourdes Castro explored the relationship between light and shadow, presence and absence, making the invisible visible through a deeply sensitive practice.
