The Carlos Machado Museum inaugurated the temporary exhibition "Archaeology, from the Convent to the Museum" at the Santa Bárbara Nucleus. The exhibition presents part of the collection from the archaeological monitoring carried out during the construction of the new reserves building, located in the grounds of the former Convent of Santo André. Through the fragments and structures discovered, the daily life of convent life is recreated, a theme rarely explored in studies on enclosure. The exhibition also proposes a reflection on the role of archaeology in the Museum and on the challenges and virtues of incorporating archaeological assets into museums.
