This exhibition by Alexandra Bircken covers her sculptural work, which addresses issues related to the notions of protection, identification and expansion of the individual through analogies between body and machine.

This Berlin-based artist combines a variety of materials and techniques to explore the boundary between the human and the artificial environment, dissecting everyday technical objects with surgical precision, bringing to light the biomorphic nature of machines. This results in an ambivalent work, simultaneously cyborg and androgynous, which questions human behavior and desire and the vulnerability of the body in its relationship with technology.
