The Salt Nativity Scene are back in Rio Maior, with cribs of all sizes giving new life to the village of Marinhas do Sal. This year's event runs from November 22 to January 6.
Every year, the Salinas are transformed into the Salt Nativity Scene Village, allowing visitors to experience the magic of this season in a centuries-old village of salt pans. Since 2012, those who visit the village at this time are dazzled by the Salt Nativity Scene, made by local craftsmen and tradesmen who use the raw material produced there to create unique works.
