Rui Reininho, the unmistakable voice and charismatic face of the Portuguese pop-rock band "GNR", is one of the most respected lyricists in the Portuguese songbook.

In 2008, the artist made his solo debut with "Companhia das Índias", an album of pop songs and, in 2021, he took on a new soundtrack with "20,000 Éguas Submarinas", a surprising album, a real dive into deep seas and an exercise in liberation. A few months after the release of this record, the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos invited Rui Reininho on a journey through it, reinventing the compositions for the big band format. The success of these shows gave rise to the desire to record this collaboration on an album, released in 2025.
