This concert by the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra features Rodrigo Azevedo on percussion and Paul Daniel as conductor. Works by M. Daugherty and Beethoven will be performed.

In Beethoven's music, we can recognize springtime and humorous atmospheres, but also tragic, moving and rebellious ones. Much depends on the listener's mood, as the music is not intended to represent specific contexts and characters in the same way as an oil painting. Percussionist Rodrigo Azevedo also plays a concerto by Michael Daugherty that pays tribute to the imagination of those who dream up new worlds. It all starts with Leonardo da Vinci and ends with Mr. Spock, from the cult series Star Trek.
