The Medieval Tower and the Barcelos Tourist Office are hosting this exhibition of nativity scenes from November 21 to January 11. The show/sale consists of 150 cribs made by more than half a hundred artisans from the municipality, highlighting the richness of local craftsmanship.
The nativity scene is one of the most symbolic pieces of Barcelos figurative art, which is why this exhibition aims to show the wealth of local handicrafts in terms of the nativity scene, showing the preponderance of this theme in the local religious imagery and the experience of the master craftsmen who have made Barcelos the Capital of Handicrafts.
