The word "border" refers to limit, margin, frontier, a space that separates and organizes. Geographical and political borders appear in walls, barriers and checkpoints, establishing hierarchies and oppositions: welcome and refusal, freedom and power, belonging and exclusion. It is also the territory of otherness, where groups, peoples and worlds are distinguished. "Borda" can come from "bordar", the gesture of adorning and enhancing. In a symbolic sense, it suggests imagining and fantasizing, expanding dreams and fables. How to act in a fabric of visible and invisible lines? Perhaps by joining forces to create a porous, mobile, fluid space - a shared embroidery.
