He became known as a member of the band "Os Azeitonas", under the pseudonym Miguel AJ (or Miguel Araújo Jorge) in 2002. In all, there have been many projects over the last 20 years, including "Azeitonas", "Desconcerto", "Ujos" and his own work.

In addition to his solo and band repertoire, he has written for some of Portugal's most outstanding performers, such as António Zambujo, Ana Moura, Carminho, Raquel Tavares and Ana Bacalhau. Recognized as one of the most outstanding composers, guitarists and interpreters of Portuguese music, Miguel Araújo has had one of the most successful careers in recent years, with a lot of work, success and releases that demonstrate the transversality of his talent.
