La Bohème, by Giacomo Puccini, takes place in the Latin Quarter of Paris around 1830 and portrays the artistic and bohemian atmosphere of the time.
The opera follows the lives of Rodolfo, a writer, Mimì, a seamstress, Marcello, a painter, and Musetta, exploring themes such as love, loss, joy, sadness and precariousness. Opera 2001's new production proposes a recreation of the Parisian context, emphasizing the emotional dimension of the work. In co-production with the Massy Opera, the show will tour more than 40 cities in Spain, Portugal and France, involving more than 100 artists on stage, under the musical direction of Martin Mázik.
