Lamego, a land of great parchments which has a firm place in the history of Portugal, was thus the motherland of this nectar which it borrowed from the original champagne grape varieties and its raw material, but which asserted itself as a wholly national product.
Over the ages Raposeira has gained a sound position on the market thanks to the high quality of the sparkling wines produced. This quality has allowed it to attain almost permanent leadership of the sector nationwide.
Raposeira selects, transports and vinifies its grapes with great care, high professionalism and strict quality control.
Each production stage is closely monitored by the oenologists whose scientific knowledge consolidates a century of accumulated experience.
The second fermentation is carried out in the bottle according to the traditional champagne method or classical method. Hence, the wine and the natural ferments develop a careful process of evolution in which the humidity, light and temperature conditions are vital.
The “remuage”, “degorgement” and liquorization operations, always entrusted to those who know, complete the creation process of these sparkling wines and lend them the final touch of distinction.
Raposeira sparkling wines encapsulate the intense character of the Beira-Douro region, emphasising the unmistakeable taste of its nectars and they are the fruit of the persistence of its people.
