The Aveiro City Council promotes the Happy Holidays in Aveiro initiative, an event that marks Christmas, New Year's Eve and the São Gonçalinho Festivities, which takes place between December 1st and January 13th.

On the 1st, from 5:30 pm, the festivities begin, with the parade of Santa Claus in Moliceiro Boats, the connection of the Christmas lighting, as well as the inauguration of the Great Christmas Tree, ending with a magnificent multimedia and pyrotechnic show, which takes place between the Captaincy and the Fonte Nova Pier.
