Paula Rego: The Cry of Imagination
Events
This exhibition brings together a set of printmaking, painting and drawing works by Paula Rego, having as its starting point the important group of works by the artist in the Serralves Collection. Here you will be a spectator of how the artist explores themes such as power and obedience, physical and psychological pain, shame and pride, violence, loneliness and sociability.
In the background, we find its figurative aspect, to highlight the role of women in contemporary society, to question everyday life and to reveal universes where surprise and amazement are anchored in the most basic and fundamental yearnings of the human being.
