In this piano recital, the work "O Livro da Ilusão" by Daniel Bernardes will be performed by the composer himself.

The work "O Livro da Ilusão" began to be written in 2020, based on the exploration of rhythmic processes coined by Simha Arom in his treatise on African rhythm, processes that had a profound influence on György Ligeti in his famous Piano Studies. Alongside the pieces resulting from this formal search, there are other freer ones, written in a momentary burst and titled with the names of musical notes. The two strands reflect the dichotomy between creative freedom and improvisation, and internal logic and formal rigor.
