Premiered in 2013, the choreographic version of this work created by Fernando Duarte for the CNB takes the narrative and symbolic structure of Tchaikovsky's original and develops a more intimate and dreamlike reading. In this interpretation, the boundaries between reality and fantasy, light and shadow, love and illusion become blurred, revealing deep emotional layers. The collaboration of filmmaker Edgar Pêra adds a cinematic dimension to the show, with moving images that don't illustrate, but expand and intensify the dramaturgical space. The duality between Odette and Odile is treated as an expression of a single divided essence, reflecting the inner conflict of the characters and, symbolically, of the human condition itself. Thus, this creation proposes a contemporary look at the classic, exploring its psychological and visual tensions in an innovative way.
